During my final year as a journalism undergrad, I was part of a one-off student led and funded magazine called “Gradient Magazine.” I took photos for the story titled “Fish Panades And Paradise.” For this story, I documented Dean & Marie, immigrants of Belize, over the course of 3 months as they provided

a taste of their homeland via their beloved restaurant The Belizean

Fish Market, located in Los Angeles.

As a student at a faith-based institution, my faith often clashed with grueling bouts of mental illness, and I barely said a word about it. So in my senior

year, I wrote and shot photos for a dearly personal article titled

“Prozac And The Pulpit,” which dives into the troublesome views

the Christian Church holds in regards to mental illness.
